Energy efficiency is a subject that affects us all. Continuing climate change caused by the damaged ozone layer is the result of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the burning of fossil fuels. These emissions are increasing on a daily basis throughout the world – because increasing numbers of people on earth are consuming increasing amounts of energy.

To help you distinguish energy-efficient appliances from their less efficient competitors at the point of sale, our machines are labelled under a number of schemes in Singapore. For example the Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme (WELS). WELS is a voluntary scheme jointly administered by the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) and Public Utilities Board (PUB). The label will provide information on the product and how much water it uses. It will display one to three ticks. The more ticks awarded, the more water efficient the product is. For example washing a full load of clothes with a - rated washing machine can save you more than 80 litres of water .
