"Green Technology inside" denotes our particularly resource-saving technologies.  Technologies that not only protect the environment but also tangibly enhance our quality of life, everyday.  They are manufactured in sustainable processes and operate efficiently - without compromising on performance.

Bosch stands for Sustainability
Harmony with the environment is of prime importance to Bosch. “We accept that our actions must accord with the interests of society. Above all else, we place our products and services in the interests of the safety of people, the economic use of resources and environmental sustainability.” – Bosch values.

We all need to take responsibility - Great journeys start with a single step.
Energy efficiency is a subject that affects us all. Continuing climate change caused by the damaged ozone layer is the result of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the burning of fossil fuels. These emissions are increasing on a daily basis throughout the world – because increasing numbers of people on earth are consuming increasing amounts of energy.

It‘s time to think again! To save our planet, we need to start by slowing down the rate of growth of our needs by making more efficient use of energy and resources. This means that saving energy and water is the order of the day – even at home, with better home insulation, compact fluorescent lights and, most importantly, home appliances that consume less power and water. Every little step helps.

Environmental protection as a traditional obligation.
If you want to run an energy-efficient household to protect the climate, you will find a like-minded partner in Bosch. All corporate activities of Europe‘s leader in home appliances are consistently focused on the principles of our founder Robert Bosch, who elevated social and environmental responsibility to the guiding principle of his company. As early as 1990, Bosch was a climate protection pioneer with hydrocarbon technology for fridges and freezers. And with a globally integrated management system for quality, environment and safety, Bosch is currently the leader in the development of energy-saving and low-consumption home appliances offering greater performance and convenience than ever.

Saving energy doesn‘t mean going without.

The refrigerator and other similar appliances account for around one third of private energy consumption. In European households something like 188 million relatively inefficient units, more than ten years old, are still in operation. If these were replaced with new, efficient appliances, the annual emissions of the greenhouse gas CO2 would fall by about 22 million tons. Imagine if you were to add in the reduction in Asia and rest of the world, the total reduction would be very significant! Buying Bosch energy saving appliances means you can protect the environment without compromising on performance, with the added bonus of lower power and water bills.

Concrete help at the point of sale.
To help you distinguish energy-efficient appliances from their less efficient competitors at the point of sale, our machines are labelled under a number of schemes in Singapore. For example the Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme (WELS). WELS is a voluntary scheme jointly administered by the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) and Public Utilities Board (PUB). The label will provide information on the product and how much water it uses. It will display one to three ticks. The more ticks awarded, the more water efficient the product is. For example washing a full load of clothes with a - rated washing machine can save you more than 80 litres of water .

Saving potentials on energy and water consumption*:

Power-saving improvements in cooking convenience
While Bosch electric cookers offer you unique cooking convenience, they enable you to save 31% more energy as compared to appliances in 1990. - thanks to many innovations and design improvements.

Dishwashing optimized to reduce consumption
Using a dishwasher is more environmentally friendly than washing by hand as it uses less water.

"A study by the University of Bonn, in Germany found that a fully loaded dishwasher uses only half the energy and one-sixth of the water than hand washing the identical set of dirty dishes" extracted from
www.cnn.com, Green tips: In the home, 22 June 2008.

The new Bosch dishwashers enable you to reduce your energy and water consumptions by 40% and 57% respectively as compared to the dishwashers in 1990.

Environmental perfection of laundry
The new Bosch washing machines wash more thoroughly, gently and quickly than ever before - while using 37% less power and 67% less water as compared to washing machines in 1990.

Energy - efficient technology for hygienic cooling
Bosch fridges and freezers already delivery maximum energy effiency.  With up to 79% lower power consumption, compared with appliances from 1990, the latest models are setting new standards in terms of saving electricity.
